Yes amor alucious, you are right, they are just stereotypes but these cliches turn alive when you fall in love...
You can read a love poem withouth being in love and you will say: Waw that was beautiful!!!, the most beautiful thing I have ever heard!!!… but the diference is that when you read a love poem and you are in love, then you will be speechless… your heart will stop for a moment and you will feel that that poet talked directly to your soul. Saying “I love you” is another cliché, even I think the biggest one, but when you really feel it, there is no any other word that can express what you are feeling, just an “I love you”, anything else; and when you love that person too, you will feel that you die when he tells you “I love you”…

So see how efective can be a cliché
