always go with your heart, even if you are wrong at least it will be your (not someone elses) mistake and you will have only yourself to blame. In my opinion its better to live a mistake, than to always wonder what something would have been like, had you decided to follow your heart.

ps. I have friends who are married to foreigners, and I have to say that they are very happy with their choice.
