It's not a matter of education, higher or lower. I have friends who are teachers, I have friends who are lawyers or doctors or what not who believe in a higher power. Spending time in higher education doesn't have to limit someone from discovering new things as well. The question if there is a God or not is a universal question that transcends culture ,time ,education and so forth.
But i wasn't actually categorizing there-just describing my experience which was similar to yours.

But yes, you are right, we experience affection very differently. I do get inspired by exchange of ideas ( aka 'fights') always learning new things, always expanding, always challenged.
No i have not met Jesus in real person, but I also haven't met Hitler or Roosevelt, or Rosa Parks.....
What I have noticed is that the people who turn themselves to the religion are mainly people who somehow fell out of the social system(not always the professional one though). These religious communities have mainly a social role for these people; they feel accepted and identify themselves with a group...humans are social animals and have a need to belong somewhere. I think, Lorie, that extremes are dangerous; balancing things in life is the key to happiness. Religion should take a tiny part of somebody's life; life so short and taking the risk of consuming most of the time in matters people even doubt their existence would be such a shame.
I would never respect a guy in a relationship who wouldn't be able to wear the pants=being a leader when needed BUT a good leader knows when to take a step aside! My better half and I are two alpha personalities and we have learnt that if we wanted to be together we'd have, when needed, to take a step back and let the other lead when/if needed. There's no place for being submissive bc neither of us would accept it; we both know that in some areas I'm better than he is and in others he's better than I am, so in those areas the priviledged one will be in charge. Aside from that, a good relationship is based on co-operation!
