What happens when you read books like Kite Runner is that it widens your heart and it fills it with an overwhelming feeling of wanting to embrace and hug all the children who suffer like this. What also happens is that it places the heart in a dangerous place if you were just being entertained by the book and not felt to move to action, to do something about this. It pushes me to pray harder and makes me more determined to pour my heart over learning on my program classes on International Trauma work. What also occurs is the stark realization of the evil world we live in and how one can be a light with every thought and word and prayer and action. And the more you push to spread light, the more you realize what a dangerous and crazy venture it can be and that you need 'the Force', a way bigger source than yourself to carry you through, you need your Older Brother treading a path of perseverance and humbleness and the tone of never giving up coupled with impatient expectations when darkness is too much to bear, when evil looks like a conqueror. Oh yeah, yeah, what this is called is rugged faith and I want some more of it !

John 1:3-4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
