Nicoletta Strambelli is her true name. She started performing since she was very young in front of the family and friends. She studied at an academy of music till the eighth grade, but the sudden death of the grandfather transported her to London. There she discover a local hot spot called the Piper where she gained the attention of many people including the owner.

In '65 with the song "Ragazzo Triste", the first pop song transmitted by Radio Vaticana, she gained great success with the public. "La Bambola" sold 9 millions copies and gained her World Wide exposure andrecognition. Her success continued with the release of "Qui e la", "Il paradiso" and "Tripoli in 1969.

Battisti,Paoli, Conte and De Gregori composed material for Patty and she covered material by Jacques Brel, Leo Ferré, Vinicius De Moraes and Neil Diamond (both in English and Italian). I

1973 was the triumphal year of "Pazza Idea",and in 1978 she released "Pensiero Stupendo". In '80s Patty appeared to Sanremo and she made displays-blitz in unusual places. In 1994 she published the disc "Ideogrammi ". In 1997 on the San Remo's festival stage with the song "... e dimmi che non vuoi morire" written by Vasco Rossi, contained in the record "Bye bye Patty", a harvest live disc of all her improve successes. The following year she published "Notti,guai e libertÃ_".
