You do have a tendency to speak in generalizations, and your thinking is black and white again, the same topic we clash over and over.

Not all Americans like what happened in Iraq and not all like war. Not all think it's fair and impose democracy on the Iraqis.

And many people who have initially felt ''bad about this poverty thing'' have left America and lived in other places. It needs to start from somehwere, no?

On the other hand, America is not always involved with the overwhelming poverty around the world. There's natural disasters, and incopetent leaders ( such as in Albania which has wonderful resources but is high in corruption).
A friend of mine works in a company that just bought Tetra Pak in Albania. So It could actually work the other way around-colloboration for progress.

Also, who's to say that staying in America won't help the poor in a more effective way? One can make say $60.000/year and give half of the earnings to the poor in x place while if one lives in that place ,one could do the same job being paid wayyy less. One wouldn't take care of his own needs,mind the poor. It's once your needs are covered that you look outside self/ nation ( whatever) and that is one reason maybe westerns feel bad.
Haven't you felt bad yourself for them? Are you sick of yourself too for feeling bad?

Right, italians say "Si ragiona a pancia piena" (trad. Resoning should be done after eating). This is the slogan of many people, including politicians, rich, etc. The idea is that you should permit them to be wealthy, then they will think about the poor. It's an egoistic order of hierarchy.

But this is normal, isn't it? We care first for our health, than for others who are sick. Yeah absolutely normal. It's only that when you look better into this issue, you discover that the others become sick to make you healthy.

Oooof course, not all Americans agree with war. But the facts don't change. People are killed and nobody is charged for murder... in America. However, everybody is contributing to the murders and taking advantage of those. Then who cares what few Americans think (or few Germans thought).

Yes, I agree. The situation in poor countries doesn't depend on America only. I'm sure of this. Especially in Albania there is profound ignorance and inappropriate culture to be a country. However, it's the same story as with Americans. Go tell them this thoughts and hardly anybody will accept.

My nickname is a symbol of this discussion. Everybody who wants to find the guilt is looking far from himself. We make questions that point to somebody far from our family, our culture, our way of being. Hardly anybody starts to be critical of his/her family, or him/herself. In the case of religious people these questions are not even posed, since God has created us this way and we only feel bad for problems.

Anyway, let's go fill the stomach. I already filled mine. How does it seem my reasoning now?
