It has nothing to do with where you physically live.
I wouldnt be so sure about this. Even you said in south boston where you can find the second large albanian community (maybe third) in the US; so its mean that albanian people meet together to live in a specific place, making a community. I dont say that communities are based solely on the sharing of space, I agree with you that comunnity is based on a feeling of we-ness that is a sense of shared identity and interdependence. But there is something interesting to analyze... I think that this feeling of ethnic identification or of belonging to a country or nationality, is created "abroad"... for example... in Albania people is identified with a region, a dialect, a village, or a family rather than with the nation. But when they are abroad they are just "Albanians". We could see that ethnicity is the extent to which a group thinks of itself as a whole, organizes itself, or acts in a unified way?
About this forum, I think it can be considered an albanian community in the networld, don't you think?. People meet in cyberspace sharing information, secrets, even FEELINGS!
Is there any difference between virtual and real communities?
